Looking for a cocktail to compliment a weekend brunch? Look no further. Begin by making a coffee simple syrup by taking brewed coffee in a saucepan and adding sugar as you heat the coffee. Add sugar and stir continuously until the solution is saturated, as you would for normal simple syrup, adding a total of about 2 parts sugar for every part liquid. Allow the syrup to cool. It will keep for some time refrigerated and can be prepared in advance.
To make the cocktail, combine 2 ounces of Vodka 14, 1 ounce of juice squeezed from a fresh organic orange, and .25 ounces of the coffee simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an orange wheel.
