Pouring good Scotch Whisky into coffee may be sacrilegious to some, but we say that all is fair in mixology– just make sure your coffee is up to snuff. Start with a course grind of your favorite locally-roasted whole beans from a roaster such as Ozo Coffee here in Boulder. The best method for brewing a cup of coffee that lives up to the Scotch is a French press, which won’t remove the essential oils from your coffee as a drip filter would. Once the coffee is prepared, pour into an eight ounce mug and stir in an ounce and a half of Highland Harvest Scotch Whisky. Finish with a generous dollop of fresh-whipped cream.
